Open to: Grades 7 to 8 - Level I Grades 9 to 12 - Level II

Writing!

Essay

Poetry - Limited to 20 lines.

Theatrical Scene -
Limited to no more than 10 pages of dialogue double-spaced .

Essay -
Typed and limited to 400 words.

Bookmark Design - Must be in bookmark format. Submit on special entry form only.

Song -
written by student and no longer than 2 1/2 minutes. Melody may be borrowed, but lyrics should be original. Record on a regular-size cassette or CD (No micro cassettes).

Entries will be judged on originality and expression of thought in relation to this year’s theme. Respect Life covers the issues of abortion, euthanasia, chastity, cloning, stem cell research, just war doctrine, death penalty, suicide, the responsibility of Catholic politicians, rights of the disabled, etc.

ONLY ONE ENTRY PER CONTESTANT

Prizes for each Level:
1st Prize: $300 cash award & memento
2nd Prize: $200 cash award & memento
3rd Prize: $100 cash award & memento
